4 mistakes to avoid for a perfect eyelash extension application
All ciliary prosthetists dream of a perfect eyelash extension application to satisfy their clients. But some common mistakes can compromise lash hold, naturalness and health. Velvet Extension reveals the pitfalls to avoid to guarantee a professional, long-lasting and safe result.
1 - Poor lash separation
Correctly separating each natural lash is essential, especially when applying volume extensions. Incorporating an extension on two natural lashes can lead to damage: lashes don't all grow at the same rate, and supporting excessive weight can cause them to fall out prematurely. To avoid these mistakes, professional training is essential, even for beginners.
2 - Choosing the wrong lash length
Each natural lash has its own length and thickness, depending on its life cycle. Take advantage of the variety of extensions available to create the right bouquet for each individual client and achieve a natural result. Never apply an extension more than 2 to 3 mm longer than the natural length of the lash: beyond that, the result becomes artificial, the eyelid may appear heavy and hold will be compromised.
3 - Poor glue management
Always use a small amount of Velvet Extension, suitable for eyelash extensions. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations to ensure optimum hold and avoid clumps or extensions falling out. For all you need to know about choosing and storing glue, consult our dedicated article.
4 - Place the extension on the skin
Eyelash extensions should never touch the skin. Place them about 1 mm from the root, without direct contact contact with the eyelid. This distance allows the extensions to follow the natural growth of the eyelash, ensuring better hold, while avoiding irritation.
You now have all the keys to successful eyelash extension application. Now it's up to you!
