Collection: Rubbers bases
At Velvet Extensionwe've thought of your customers with brittle, damaged nails. Our rubbers bases (or rubber bases) are flexible nail polish bases that move with the nail, helping to prevent bumps. They are ideal for rebuilding nail shape, filling in plate irregularities and strengthening yellowed, weakened or split yolks. With Velvet Extension rubber bases, there's no need for gel!
Rubber base for brittle nails
Revolutionize your manicures with our rubber bases ! These flagship products for nail technicians are perfect for your customers with brittle nails. Thanks to their rubber-enriched formula and thick texture (but still easy to work with!), they create a protective barrier on the nail, protecting it from breakage, delamination and other everyday annoyances. They're also self-leveling and won't spill over onto fingers.
Whether you're a beginner or an expert, you can create plate extensions of up to 5 mm and offer your customers long-lasting, aesthetic manicures without the use of gel. Discover them in shades of nude, pink, peach or brown!
Why use a rubber base (advantages)?
At Velvet Extension, we understand the needs of professional nail technicians. You need to meet all your customers' expectations, including those with brittle nails. Offer them a manicure with our range of rubber bases and their many advantages:
-
nail protection and reinforcement: all thanks to the thick, elastic texture of Velvet Extension rubber base, which prevents nails from splitting, breaking or becoming damaged. It's like a shield against external aggression! Nails can continue to grow without risk;
-
filling in imperfections : rubber Velvet Extension base smoothes the nail surface and fills in small imperfections, providing an even base for gel or semi-permanent polish application;
-
Nail extension: if your customers have brittle nails, the rubber base can be used to extend the natural nail by up to 5 mm. You can bring their ideas to life and create longer, rounded shapes, without the need for gel!
-
long-lasting hold: the flexibility of the rubber base ensures better adhesion of the product to the nail, prolonging the life of the manicure. It follows the natural movements of the nail, considerably reducing the risk of cracking and chipping;
-
wide range of colors: rubber bases are available in a multitude of pink, brown, orange and nude shades (baby milky, shimmer skin, natural, baby pink, baby peach, sand, ivory, rosa, skin love, mocha, cover blush, cover strawberry, cover cream and cover tan). Our colors are easy to match with all your nail art!
- easy application : rubber base is quick and easy to apply, even for beginners. Its self-smoothing texture facilitates application and guarantees a professional result.
How do I use a rubber database?
Applying our semi-permanent nail polish is child's play. Once you've prepared the nail by filing lightly with a file or buffer, pushing back cuticles and degreasing, dust it off to make sure the base is smooth and ready for the manicure.
Next, apply a nail prep and primer (available from Velvet Extension !): this will help the products adhere better and last longer. Allow to air dry, then apply a coat of base coat, two coats of semi-permanent nail polish (depending on the desired opacity) and a coat of top coat. Always catalyze each coat under an LED or UV lamp.
For a perfect finish, remove the sticky residue with a cleaner and nourish your cuticles with one of our Velvet Extension scented oils.
How do I remove rubber base from my nails?
Removing semi-permanent nails with a rubber base requires special care to preserve the health of your customers' nails. But it's not rocket science for you, as a professional nail technician!
After preparing the nails by lightly trimming and filing, soak cotton pads generously in semi-permanent nail polish remover and wrap each nail in aluminum foil or special capsules. Leave for the time indicated on the nail polish remover bottle.
Then gently remove the aluminum foil and gently scrape away the softened rubber base with a wooden cuticle pusher. Once again, you can apply a scented cuticle oil for an optimal finish.
Which nail polish for brittle nails?
It's possible to combine protection for damaged nails with a manicure. All you need to do is choose the right products, those designed to be both aesthetically pleasing and effective! Here are a few suggestions:
- Velvet Extension rubber base: we've already mentioned it on this page, but Velvet Extension 's rubber base is specially designed for fragile nails. It acts like a shield on the nail plate, strengthening the natural nail and giving it a flawless finish (thanks in particular to its many shades, which you're urged to discover!);
- fortifying bases : these often contain ingredients such as keratin, calcium or biotin, which help strengthen the nail structure. They form a protective layer that prevents nails from splitting or breaking;
- hardening nail polishes: these contain hardening agents that penetrate the nail to strengthen it from within. They are particularly effective for soft, flexible nails.
Velvet Extension tip: choose nail polishes with thick, creamy textures, as the product will adhere much better to the nails. And don't hesitate to moisturize and nourish your nails to keep them in tip-top condition!
