Rubber Base is ideal for problem nails such as thin, brittle and very flexible nails. People who don't want to apply gel to shape their nails will also be delighted with this base.
The fundamental and most important difference between Rubber base and any other varnish base: its FLEXIBILITY.
Unlike other conventional semi-permanent varnish bases, which tend to be hard, the Rubber base moves with the nail. It's precisely its rubber structure that prevents damage caused by violent shocks and pinching on the nail.
The Rubber base is thick, even very thick for some, similar to specialized bases for gel nail constructions. Thanks to its consistency, it won't run or spill onto the skin, and it's self-leveling, making it easy to rebuild the nail's shape to fill plate irregularities. Because of its ease of application, Rubber bases are often recommended to professional prosthetists and beginners alike.
The Rubber base enables you to extend the nail plate by up to 5mm, rebuild a nail and restore its shape. Very practical for people with a broken nail or who want to lengthen their nails slightly without using gel.

VelvetNails protocol
- Push back your cuticles and trim if necessary
- Prepare your nails with a buffer or soft file
- Dust off your nails
- Apply a primer or our nail prep and allow to air dry.
- Apply 1 coat of VelvetNails semi-permanent base and catalyze
- Apply 2 coats of your colored semi-permanent varnish and catalyze.
- Apply a coat of top coat and catalyze
- Remove excess grease with Cleaner degreaser
- File edges
- Soften cuticles with cuticle oil
